Kicking off the ARIA Awards for 2007 was Silverchair performing their hit Straight Lines. They were to take home 6 Arias including for the first time, Album of the Year. It also marked Silverchair's 20 Arias surpassing John Farnham's record of the highest total number of Aria Awards of all time. The event was hosted once again by Rove McManus and watched by over 1.6 million people around Australia on Network Ten.
